Our Approach to Artificial Intelligence (AI)

At Inspiring Communities, we use artificial intelligence (AI) responsibly, ethically, and with people at the heart of everything we do.

AI is a powerful tool, but it must never replace human insight, care, or accountability. We use AI only where it helps us improve services, support staff and communities, or enhance how we work — and always with human oversight.

Our Principles for Using AI

We commit to using AI in line with the following values:

  • Human-led: AI supports, not replaces, people’s expertise.

  • Transparent & accountable: We’re open about where and how AI is used.

  • Safe & ethical: AI tools are monitored, used with care, and reviewed regularly.

  • Inclusive & fair: We take steps to avoid bias and ensure equitable outcomes.

  • Privacy-first: We follow UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 to protect personal data.

  • Community-focused: AI must align with our mission of wellbeing, connection, and social good.

We monitor environmental and social impacts, and we only collect data that’s necessary, storing it securely using systems supported by Stirling Council and trusted cloud services.

How We Stay Accountable

  • Informed consent is required when personal data is processed using AI.

  • AI use is reviewed regularly, in line with evolving best practices and community needs.

  • Our team learns from every use case and shares insights within the sector.

We welcome feedback and remain committed to reviewing our approach.
